Across the islands. Beyond the postcard.
Polynesian Escape is an independent English-language travel journal about French Polynesia. We bring together island guides, practical planning and cultural context for travellers who want to look beyond a beautiful first impression.
Travel with a little more attention
We favour an itinerary with breathing room, a well-chosen local guide and questions that lead to a better understanding of place. Our stories are designed to help you decide: where to spend your nights, what to ask before booking and when to leave a day open.
Our launch collection includes ten original articles across Islands, Journeys and Culture. Start with the first-trip itinerary or explore the complete journal.
A new chapter for the name
The Polynesian Escape name has an earlier connection to cultural and adventure travel associated with Tahiarii Yoram Pariente. We document that history in From the archive. This newly published journal is independent of that former activity and does not represent its founder or offer its tours.
How the journal is made
Our articles combine original editorial planning advice with linked sources from tourism organisations, transport operators and cultural institutions. They are researched guides, not claims of first-hand visits or paid recommendations. Read our editorial policy for sourcing, imagery and the limits of travel information.
